This is Sophie. She's my first.
She's my confidante and my clown. It was Sophie who showed me that there really is such a thing as totally unconditional love. She's taught me patience, joy in simple things, and that there's nothing that can't be made better with a good tummy rub.

In Loving Memory of my Max.
September 9, 2016
When my Max came to me in 2009 he was a mess. I was at the shelter volunteering and never even saw him in the “big dog”wing since he was curled up in the corner of the last kennel. As I was leaving I saw another volunteer walking him and stopped to see him and ask where he came from. It was love at first sight and I knew he would be the perfect companion to my Sophie. So the introduction was made and two days later I was picking him up from the shelter and on my way to drop this extremely matted boy off at the groomer before I took him home. He fit in from the start.
Over the years my Max had five surgeries with many months of recovery. After every surgery, although sometimes I thought he was giving up, he fought back and recovered as best he could. In the end, my Max peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge in the comfort of his home. The evening before we visited his grandparents and his aunt, uncle and cousins to say goodbye. I finally knew it was his time by the way he was looking at me and seeing an emptiness in his eyes I hadn’t seen before.
Although time heals all, I know my Max is in my heart and I desperately miss him every day. I made him a promise that Sophia Maxim Design will live on in his memory in hopes of saving dogs just like Max from a life of despair.
So in Loving Memory of my baby boy Max, we will donate a portion of all of our proceeds to help save more dogs in rescue and shelter. I desperately miss him every day. I made him a promise that Sophia Maxim Design will live on in his memory in hopes of saving dogs just like Max from a life of despair.
